Redding Deconstructed
My hometown is Redding, California. Many of my earliest memories have been connected with seeing the many industrial yards (lumber mills, concrete plants, and lots full of large construction equipment). This is what precedes the area's continued sprawling suburban development with its endless box stores and stripmalls.
These images are black and white photos shot on high speed film. Portions of the images have been cut away then hand drawn back into the composition as a means to evoke the sensation of accessing fragmented memories that define a place.
